Street teams are typicially groups of people that help promote bands they like and support. Their main duties
- bringing friends to the shows
- telling friends about band merchandise
- putting up posters
- posting to band forums or related bulletin boards online
- maintaining zines or websites dedicated to the band
- spreading the word
Many industries are working with the street team idea, and are typically those that appeal to young, liberal ideals; PETA, Greenpeace, etc.
Many important and international bands have street teams as well...
Why does BLooD InK need a street team?
We are in a country, Lebanon, that doesn't have any official form of support for rock/metal music, so all local bands must truly rely on their fan base, reputation, contacts, and friends to be able to try to achieve the minimal such as getting gigs, spreading the word wider, etc...
But we have bigger plans at the moment...
This team was established to help us at several levels so we achieve the best we can.
Any skills the team members might have, we can probably make a good use out of it.
The team will also be composed of an 'offline team' and an 'online team'.
The offline team will mainly be on "the ground" distributing flyers, setting up posters, selling album, band merchandise, etc...
The online team's main is working on the internet through forums, music sites, myspace & similar, guestbooks, emails, etc.
There will be a scoring system in the team which will allow high scorers more rewards such as getting in to gigs for free.
If you think you have enough interest to help BLooD InK achieve its goal and would like to be part of this team and an active part of the band as well, feel free to join.
If you remotely think this team idea is childish or pointless, please do not think of joining, especially if it's just for the heck of it.
You will be briefed into further details when you signup to join the team and are accepted.
